How does everyone do it?

I felt like I Love Lucy this morning. I can't figure out how to work the sprinkers so at 6 am they didn't go off in the front. So I get up early to hand water the lawn and attempt to hook up the hose in the front only to find about twenty knobs and turning things for the elaborate drip system and sprinkers. So after half the neighborhood watches me struggle with the hoses, knobs, get sprayed in the face and fall on my butt TWICE, I notice the garbarge men down the block.

Aggg... garbage day! So I run in the back and attempt to move this huge garbage can and try to drag it past my car in the driveway on the neigbor's lawn and it gets stuck in the bush and falls over. I finally get it through and to the curb only to remember the recyle bin. This time I move my car first and look all calm and collected and less like a raging lunatic.



Oh, and the shower rod popped off for no reason in the middle of the shower and I just noticed AT WORK that my feet are covered in mud

I'd put DH in charge of sprinkler and garbage... oh, but he does travel right?

I'm so spoiled now with DH. I hate it when he travels and I have to do garbage.

It will get a lot easier. Is MIL still visiting? Have her do the garbage

I forget the garbage ALL the time...DH is useless with remembering. And my garbage men come beofre 6 am most days, so there is no doing it in the morning!


I woke up and heard them once and went running down the driveway pullign the can and they passed right by me!

You know what, sometimes I give up! And I just don't do it. DH is away and I just space out 'his' type of jobs. So somedays that trash doesn't get rolled out into the street...or maybe just half. Other days I feel like superwoman and I do it all. Just depends on when the chore catches me. Lord know I've had my Lucy days. Last week I over weed n' feeded a patch of the lawn (and felt great as I was taking car of the lawn-haha!) with that Scott's Summerguard stuff...this week I have a nice brown patch. Oh well!!

you just figure it out as you go along. We've been in our house for 11 months now, and I still can't figure out light switches, sprinkler system, etc... but we're getting close!

Thank everyone for making me feel less like a dolt.

Talked to DH and he told me that I was only supposed to turn off sprinkler and turn on two days later, so he doesn't understand why I am so frustrated.
