Places to go away with a baby
DH has informed me that he wants to go away Anyway - we're looking for something baby friendly (no cruises) - Joseph will be 14 mos old when we go. My travel agent recommended Cancun and Aruba - we don't want to fly far - but maybe you ladies can give me some recommendations of where you've been!

Haven't traveled with Andrew yet, but we're planning a trip with Hayley from Beach Bum Vacations. For a family trip she has recommended Beaches Turks & Caicos (3 hour flight) and also the Holiday Inn Sunspree, Divi Beach Resort, Tamarijn Resort and Aruba Resort and Casino in Aruba.

Aruba is great for families it isvery baby friendly. When we went on our honeymoon the pool was filled with babies.
We stayed at the Radisson and it has a zero entry pool which is great for babies.
The locations was great also because it was walking distance from restaurants and shopping. This wayyou don't have to worry about car seats all the time you just put him in the stroller and walk.

I definitely agree with Aruba. DH and I just got back from our Babymoon and there were so many kids there! Besides the one in my belly, the youngest one we saw at our hotel was 4 months old. She even went inthe water (pool and ocean!). Her daddy held her in a waterproof carrier. Like a baby bjorn type thing. That particular family had 3 kids! We were one of the only families there without kids. We stayed at the Marriott Surf Club time share.

I also agree with Aruba, there were so many babies there went we went for our honeymoon 2 years ago. We stayed at the Renaissance by Marriot right in oranjastad (sp)
The flight wasn't too bad, it was 4 hours. I love aruba, and will def be taking DD there soon!

Thanks everyone - I was worried about the weather in Aruba. I know it can be quite windy and wasn't sure if he'd be uncomfortable. Did you notice a problem w/ it?
Also, do you know of this hotel? Thx!

Actually in Aruba you need the wind...otherwise the sun is H O T!!!!
Sometimes it's whipping, but I was never like ugh this wind is terrible. I know it is a little more pronounced near the high-rise hotels...
we stayed at the Divi and it wasn't that bad...

I think princessmaris is going to Turks and Caicos - I HIGHLY recommend Turks - I have been going for years (to club med) and we plan on going to beaches maybe in Dec. or January. The other trip I want to take with her is to Club Med Sandpiper...both places have gotten amazing reviews from my mommy friends and are much closer than Aruba.

We are actually going to Beaches Sandy Bay.... (and will be having a vow renewal ceremony there  )
My friend who owns her own travel agency rec'd it.... she had rav reviews....So i guess we will see...
She also rec'd the Amelia Tropical... (not sure where it is- but somewhere in the caribbean) she said its beautiful, and if great for families.... (it just didnt have much to offer us wedding wise)
