No IUI for us this month
When I went to Dr B for my cd3 u/s yesterday, he said I had a cyst on my right ovary. He said depending on my blood test results, they would let me know whether or not I would have to wait until next cycle to do IUI.
Well..I got a call last night saying the #'s are too high & the egg quality would be too poor w/the cyst so we have to wait for the cyst to hopefully go away next cycle so we can do an iui.
I was so upset last night, I feel like its a whole month wasted. My wonderful DH tried to make me feel better by saying that it IS after all the shortest mo. of the yr & hopefully it will go quick. We are going away next weekend for our 1 yr wedding anniversary & will try this mo. on our own. I am SO disappointed
sorry so long..just had to get it out..

I'm sorry. It's so disappointing to have to wait for something that you want so badly. Try to enjoy your weekend away, and to focus on other things, and hopefully the time will fly by.

Re: No IUI for us this month
thanks ladies- I am going to just relax and not worry about it even though I feel like I lost a month. I just pray that the cyst goes away on its own.

Re: No IUI for us this month
I'm sorry.
I had a really, really large ovarian cyst over the summer (6 cm - at that size they consider surgery to remove them) and was told I wasn't allowed to ttc. They even put me on BC pills so I couldn't conceive.
Good news is - the cyst went away in one month. Hope it's the same for you.

Re: No IUI for us this month
Sorry to hear. I have a history of ovarian cysts so I know how frustrating it can be. Why does your RE feel it is not a good idea to continue? I was never told it was unsafe, but it does reduce the chances of producing mature follicles in the ovary that has the cyst. I hope it goes away and next month you continue. Good luck!

he said if I took the femara, b/c the cyst is active at this point, it would absorb the meds and I would not develop good follicles.

Oh I see. Mine were not active and that is why BCP would not help it shrink, thus the surgeries. Thankfully you won't need surgery. Good luck again.
