NSUH or LIJ...which one
North Shore University Hospital or Long Island Jewish Hospital
Which one will you choose? I read / heard that LIJ has the best NICU and we are strongly thinking about it since we are expecting triplets. Can you give me any information on labor and delivery for each hospital please 
Any information that you can provide will be of most help.

I too have heard the same thing about LIJ having the best NICU.
and if i were having triplets this would be my number 1 concern, personally.
A family member works in NSUH and so we were delivering there first. but we switched dr's and the new dr is affiliated with LIJ. My SIL (also in the same family as the member who works at NSUH) said she would choose LIJ over NSUH just because of the NICU.

i wanted NSUH but my ob only delivers at LIJ. because I like the doctor so much and because of the NICU at LIJ, we are going with LIJ.
i would think with triplets the NICU should be the most important factor for you.

i'm delivering at LIJ. my SIL is actually a labor and delivery nurse there. She has told me that an important factor in birth is having a good nicu just in case. they have a really good one. like others said, since you are having triplets, i would be sure there is a good nicu at the hosp you end up choosing

I'm delivering at LIJ. I asked my OB why he delivers there rather than NSUH and he said because they have the best NICU in the area.
Which hospital does your OB deliver at? Either hospital is definitely well equipped.

I think they are both excellent hospitals, but with having triplets, I would choose LIJ because of their NICU.

I will be delivering at LIJ- love the hospital so far- I've been going there quite a bit for my sonos- although its not the labor and delivery unit (its the floor above theirs) I have to say the staff was very friendly and knowledgeble, and the one time I did have to go to L&D they were very good! Good luck!!!
