Has anyone done the butler level rooms at Sandals?
Just looking for feedback. We upgraded to a room with a butler for our trip next month to the Royal Bahamian and I'm wondering if there is anything we need to know? I believe we should tip at least $20 a day but anything else?

Re: Has anyone done the butler level rooms at Sandals?
Did they call you shortly before and offer you the upgrade at a discounted rate? They did this with us - at first, we wanted a butler room bad but could not afford it. Then, when they called us a few weeks before our trip we were ABOUT to upgrade because it was a lot cheaper but didn't. THEN, last minute, when we were checking in I mentioned that phone call - and she offered it again and we TOOK IT. The price was too good to pass it up - and WOW was it amazing!!! We loved our butlers - we had two b/c they work in shifts. They were fantastic. We tipped them like you said - about 20 bucks a day. We were in Jamaica - at Ocho Rios. We got a room with a private pool - it was a fantastic vacation. We loved it - true R&R! You'll never want to go back! And you'll never book it from the beginning again - you'll probably always wait for the last minute upgrade now lol!

Unfortunately not. We are paying full price. Long story, but we were originally going in Jan and had to cancel due to IVF treatment and when I went to rebook it for March everything with an oceanview and balcony was sold out (and we really want both when on vaca). We decided we deserved to spoil ourselves just this once, but like you say, we will probably always want a bulter after this.

From what I understand they are at your beck and call 24/7 for your trip. First you get picked up at the airport in either a rolls royce or mercedes limo, instead of travelling in the sandals bus with the other guests. You don't have to touch your baggage once you get to the airport - it is delivered directly to your room. The butlers make all your reservations for you and one restaurant is for butler-level only guests. They will bring your drinks and food to the beach or pool, reserve your lounge chairs, bring food or drinks to your room, etc. I have yet to experience, but we saw some of it in action at the Sandals Grande St. Lucia and it looked like a real treat.

We did not have any special car from the airport, just the regular bus everyone takes. The ride was awful (the drivers are horrible and the roads are worse). I told our butler I want a different way of getting back to the airport so he arranged a private car take us (it was a small SUV, just us though). Everything else she said is what we had. Highly recommend getting a butler!
ETA: The butler also setup a bubble bath for us, rose petals everywhere, wine, candles (he just asked us which night we wanted it for).

I'm sorry! I know the ride from the airport to the resorts in St. Lucia and I would have been really pi$$ed if I didn't have a private car when it was paid for. I just called Sandals and they confirmed that a rolls royce or mercedes is part of the package. I would definitley have complained.

get ur moneys worth while being lazyyyyy! LOL
we went to royal plantation (owned by sandals) we were allowed to go to all sandals and beaches resorts and use all their facilities and stuff but they werent allowed to come to our resort.
it was our honeymoon so we splurged. our butler was awesome. we had flags by the beach and if we wanted a drink all we had to do was make sure the flag was up and our butler came running to us.. if we wanted something that wasnt on the menu - no problem.. they book all ur tours and excursions.. they do everything for u
yeaa i can only dream of going on a lazy lounging vaca like that again LOL
eta: oo we also had our own private mercedes picking us up at the airport and driving us to the resort

Yes for our honeymoon
We went to the Sandals Whitehouse

Drove us in a golf cart to all the restaurants. Set up dinner in our room. Got us any liquor we wanted for our bar in our room
It was great! We aere there for 10 days and ended up tipping him about $100 or so His name was Alvin and he rocked. They each had an assistant they were training who got us things too. it was the BEST
