Toddler on Amtrak?
Planning on going to DC in May and taking Amtrak. DS will be 21 months. I will be buying a seat for him. Does he need a car seat?

Re: Toddler on Amtrak?
I took Amtrak from Washington to Baltimore...I consider it a first class LIRR...nice roomy seats. They have outlets so you can plug if your DVD player/ipod. They had regular airplane type seatbelts.
Just wondering, what will you be doing w/ him car seat wise when you get to Washington DC?
And, if you have time and can take DS to a nice restaurant, I recomend La Tasca for tapas. They have a few locations and if you sign up for their emails a few days before you go, they'll send you a coupon for your first visit. (don't do it too soon, coupon isn't good for that long).

Re: Toddler on Amtrak?
Thank you for the info. I'm actually taking DS and DH along for my student's national championships. Once we get to DC we were going to take the subway to the hotel, which apparently is very accessible by subway. The zoo is two blocks from the hotel so that should be fun and then anything else, we will be taking the subway.

Re: Toddler on Amtrak?
The Amtrak Station is in the same station as the metro (subway) which was super clean.
I hope you have a great time.
