I am the only one

Who probably won't use a pacifer with this baby? I am not saying that I definitely won't but I tried one with my DS and he never took it. After like a week we just stopped trying to give it to him and he was fine. This time around I don't think I am even going to try to give the baby a pacifer. Just curious to see if anyone else was doing same.

i will offer it, if he doesnt take it im not going to push it.. but if he does take it why not.. its soothing to them.

ds took to it right away and it became a life saver..

Re: I am the only one

I didn't offer it to DS right away because I was really hooked on successfully BFing.

I started to offer it when he was about 7 weeks. When he started to take to it I freaked out about having to take it away, so I stopped giving it to him before it became a habit.

Honestly, I have no idea what I am going to do this time. I feel like with twins it will be my lifesaver. But my theory has always been "why start a habit only to deal with taking it away later"

I will be open to it and just see how the cookie crumbles this time.

I dont think I will either. I dont want a three year old sucking on one or sucking on his thumb. I see it way too much! Well see though I read if you take it away by 3 months they dont get hooked.

i went with my last son and will do the same with these two - when i was told my son would most likely be a thumb sucker i pushed it and he used for a couple of months and gave it up when he had a cold - i will let them guide me - i had no problem BFing and it soothed him when he want to suck to fall alseep

I only registered for one 2-pack of the smallest size. If they don't want it, I'm not going to push it. If they like it, then fine.

My mom always said that my brother and I both spit it out once and she never offered it again. We both turned out fine.

I will offer it but I will not force it on him. If he wants it and it helps soothe him then I am all for it.

Re: I am the only one

Both DH and I were paci addicts. We said we wouldn't, but gave in. Now I have a paci addict. We're down to night time only. LOL!
I'll offer it to the new baby b/c it did get me through a lot of nights. I won't push it though
