Did you really just say that????
I had to meet with a parent this afternoon and when she looked at me she asked how far along I was. When I told her she said "Oh, you're big for your first."  Ha...very nice, and now your child is getting the lower grade. JK.

I laughed it off in front of her but was definitely annoyed on the inside.
Seriously, what are people thinking? I should've said "You've been there!" Every mother must remember how hard it was to lose their body, why would they say these things?

that's a really good point. You'd think any mother out there would remember how hard it was to watch their body change, and likewise remember feeling uncomfortable or insecure with people's rude comments. I guess over the years they just forget and lose their filters. I really hope I never become like that.

seriously?!?! The way people talk to pregnant women is absurd. People really need to shut their mouth. I've became so outspoken this pregnancy that now I give it right back to people. They stop in their tracks!

I wonder this all of the time! It doesn't make sense. Mothers should know extra well how hard it is!

I think I was even more taken aback since everyone around me has been soooo positive. My coworkers are overly protective over me and compliment the baby bump daily. I never had comments like many other ladies on here have experienced...till today.
I was down on myself this week for my 4 week weight gain, I don't need someone else bringing me down.

i never can understand why some people don't have an internal filter especially when it comes to pregnant women! i feel your pain. Today I was at my hair salon and my stylist says "when is your due date?" and i say "may 2nd...11 more weeks" and she says "wow you look like your ready to go now are you having twins?" and i'm like "no only one" and she's like "are you sure?" and i'm like "yea i've had 4 ultrasounds....there is only 1 in there!"...i mean why didn't she get the hint the first time i said i was only having 1?!?!?!?!

Oh any my ONE hangup this whole pregnancy has been "am I where I should be?" And that's what she comments about!
I realize I need to gain weight but I don't want people thinking I'm due tomorrow when I really have 3 months to go or that I'm having twins when it's just one.
