We did not but I did consider it. We ended up going to the Sandals Grande, which was gorgeous.

Re: Almond Resort - St. Lucia
My husband and I stayed there in June. We were not fans and would not recommend it. Granted the weather was terrible most of the time, but that just magnified how lacking the resort was. The food was horrible, the lunch was pretty much inedible, the last three days we ordered room service off the children's menu and ate in our rooms. The staff was not accommodating and at times unfriendly.
We certainly tried to make the best of it and we enjoyed certain aspects of the trip - we ate at Morgan's Pier seafood restaurant whenever it was open (the dorado filet and crabcakes were actually really good), the piano bar entertainment in the french restaurant late at night was pretty fun (because EVERYONE from the whole resort was in there, laughing along with him as this funny Caribbean man tried to sing songs like Piano Man in english and the whole place sang along) and there was always room to lay out at the beach. We went on Capt. Joy's tour, which I read about on trip advisor, it was cancelled twice before we finally got to go the day before we left, it was good until we were eating our "caribbean lunch on the beach" of chicken and Joy's brother (it's a family operation) mentioned that they keep the chickens for ****-fighting... I was not happy to know I was supporting that being an animal lover.
Other than those highlights, we really did not enjoy the trip. The decent restaurant was not always open for dinner, the restaurants almost never change up the menu (the main restaurant was always open + one or two of the others... and the menus were always the same so you were really limited in choices)... the breakfast buffet was good but they made my husband eat outside the restaurant because his tank shirt didn't have long enough sleeves (I'm not talking wife beater, I'm talking entire shoulder and back were covered)... sickly cats and dogs would wander into the resort and beg for food which was heartbreaking, some of the cats were visibly pregnant or had tumors hanging from their stomachs, and the dogs were starving. The lunch food was literally inedible, and we're talking basics like hamburgers (they didn't get the concept of putting cheese on them). The beds were super hard and they gave you three tiny pillows that barely made a difference. The bartender didn't know how to make a strawberry daiquiri. Oh - and on our last day, as I was in the reception area paying to use the internet on the reception computer to check my email a girl came in crying because someone had broken into her room and stolen her things. A couple had a small wedding there and I watched as the bride walked through the bar area with the staff member just hanging out nearby not even paying attention or helping her as her dress dragged through puddles of dirty water in the flooding entertainment/stage/pool bar area.
So yeah.. I would not recommend it. We saw the other Almond Resorts property (smugglers' cove) just to check it out and the restaurants looked somewhat nicer but the resort felt like it was totally dead, and it would not be worth the $40 round trip cab fare to visit more than once.

Re: Almond Resort - St. Lucia
By the way - we met people in the airport who had stayed at the Sandals resorts, and none of them had any complaints, they all had a great time. I would recommend staying there instead if you want to visit St. Lucia, and if you do, definitely go on the land and sea tour to visit the waterfall, volcano and different areas of the island.

Thanks for the details. We have a timeshare and we are able to get phenomenal rates through specific resorts and this was one. Sandals is not one and honestly not really a fan of them.

i would recommend staying at a Sandals resort, they are world class and have amazing deals sometimes if price is an issue.

The Windjammer Landing Resort is a timeshare resort. Do you know if this is on your list of offered resorts? I've stayed here and it is absolutely beautiful and the restaurants are very, very good.

FWIW, despite the rave reviews of many, DH and I were not at all fans of Sandals Regency in St. Lucia.
I have no experience with your resort, but I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in St. Lucia. It's a beautiful island!
I agree with the PP who suggested the Diamond Falls/Volcano/Sulfur Springs tour in Soufriere. We also did the ziplining and a sunset cruise. One thing we did not get to do, which I wish we had, was the Friday Night Fish Fry in Anse La Raye.
Have a great time!
