Can you cook frozen meat in the crockpot?
Sorry for all the crockpot questions our oven has been broken and isn't being fixed until Friday so we've been living off the microwave and crockpot

I think you can but I usually give it a quick defrost anyway. If it's a little bit frozen in the center still I put it in.
I have put frozen chop meat in when I have made chillii before.

I made a BBQ pulled chicken - 4 frozen chicken breasts, tsp of liquid smoke and a bottle of BBQ sauce (of course salt pepper to taste). Cooked on low for 8 hours, when I got home I had to do was shred it with a fork. I let it sit for another 30 min in the sauce.
You can also thaw meat in the fridge for 24 hours. If you're really in a bind before work, you can also thaw it in the microwave before putting it in the crock pot.

I've often used completely frozen chicken pieces with no problem. I'd be a little skeptical about a roast though...I think you'd want it to be at least half way frozen.

the directions will tell you not to put frozen food in it, especially meat because it cooks at such a low temp that while the food is defrosting its at risk of being at the perfect temperature for bacteria to grow and get you sick. I never do it.
