Beaches turks and Caicos
We've booked it for our fam vacation in March. We're supposed to be staying in the French section. We thought we did enough research and heard great things. Now I'm finding some bad...really bad reviews. Should we change to Italian village, which they say is better. Some say there are Bed Bugs and I'm soooo grossed out by the thought. We've purchased the insurance and now are considering cancelling our trip. WWYD?? Cancel?

Where did you see bad reviews? Check trip advisor. We had a ball there! French Village would not be my first choice b/c it is farthest from the beach & I don't think that there are walk out balconies but it is beautiful and very new. I would stay there in a heartbeat even though that village is just not my #1 preference. Most of the French Village is still close to the beach but it is just my preference to be very close. The French Village pool is gorgeous and a bit less crowded than the rest. The cafe in the French Village is great. French Village is also near the stage, where many evening activities take place. It's also near the spa. Basically, it is central to everything but the other villages are a bit closer to the beach. The water park is right there also! Go to the hot & cold plunge pools at the spa. That was something neat to try. Have fun. I wish to go back soon.

Re: Beaches turks and Caicos
No worries - we have stayed in all 3 Villages and loved them all. But Italian Village is our favorite...no question there!

Re: Beaches turks and Caicos
We stayed in Caribbean, second floor of the building that was more centrally located. However, I really hope to stay in the Italian Village in the future. It was tough because the Italian village seems to have more of the larger rooms for big groups and we are a family of 3 and my son was still in a rollaway crib. With a larger family, the price per person for the Italian Village is not as extreme as it would have been for a family of 3. For our family it would have been a very big difference from either the French or Caribbean. The only negative to the Italian Village is that the pavers that they used around the pool get very hot so you have to wear shoes just to walk from your chair to the water. It was not like that at the other pools, waterpark or even on the beach.

I believe we stayed in the French Village also. I thought it was a decent walk to the beach, but nothing terrible. We were right by the main pool which we loved and near the stage so as soon as we knew a show was going on, we took my niece there. Also, it was very close to many of the restaurants. I loved where we stayed. It was by far just abiout the best vacation I have taken.
