Hospital Bag checklist that was perfect for my L&D stay
Hi Girls!
As promised-here's what was in my hospital bag...I felt like I had EVERYTHING I needed, especially for a 4 night stay in the hospital (be prepared for this in case you end up getting a C-section at the last minute)
-2 pairs very loose pajama pants (NOT low rise)
-2 nursing tank tops (if you plan to nurse)
-4 pairs granny panties (make sure they're not low rise)
-Lots of socks!
-flipflops for shower
-breastfeeding pillow (will help so much!)
-swaddle blankets (I packed 2 Aden & Anais muslin blankets-so much more comfy than the ones at the hospital-plus it made for a great cover up if I was breastfeeding
-baby cap (I wanted DS to wear his own)
-light robe
Toiletries:
-makeup (I brought tinted moisturizer,cream blush, mascara, lash curler, and tinted lip conditioner)
-face cleaning wipes (I brought neutrogena)
-colgate "toothbrush on the go"-basically they freshen up your teeth if you cant get to a sink to brush-which happened to me after I had the baby...this was a HUGE LIFESAVER!
-hair ties, a headband, and barettes
-moisturizer & eye cream (hint: go to Sephora or a makeup counter and get samples!)
-body wash
-shampoo & conditioner
-lansinoh nipple cream (for nursing)
-nipple pads
-hairbrush
-deodorant
-q-tips
**in the drugstore section of Buy Buy Baby I was able to get most of my toiletries in sample sizes...you are definitely going to want to freshen up and feel pulled together (trust me, everyone will be bringing cameras)

I had all of these in my bag except for the nipple cream...totally forgot about that! Thanks for the reminder!

-Video Camera
-Phone Charger
-Going Home Outfit

The only things I would add are:

I also had snacks...
I was alays starving in the hospital and loved a little snack "after hours" when the kitchen as closed.
I had granola bars, twizzlers etc.

Crashing....After the first couple of hours in granny panties, my husband actually went out and got me a pack of boxer briefs for men. They were actually perfect to keep the pads and chucks in after a vaginal delivery. I never thought of it and now I recommend it to others.

I am bumping this list for all the mommies needing to pack hospital bags. I had notebooked this for DD (3 years ago) and it was helpful. Was trying to figure out what to pack this time and figured others are probably wondering too.
FYI - you can never bring enough snacks for you and especially for DH.

I would totally add your own Maxi pads. Sometimes, the ones in the hospital are sooo thick and uncomfortable. and
Dry shampoo, in case you have a c-section and they don't let you shiower.
