Airfare to Ft Lauderdale? ETA: Spirit Air $9 club?

It looks like we'll be going to down to Ft Lauderale quite often in the future. Does anyone know which airline has the best prices to that airport?

Also- does anyone know anything about the Spirit Air $9 club?

I fly there for work and I've found all airlines to be pretty much in the same range since discount carriers such as Southwest, Spirit and JetBlue go there.

I'm a member of the $9 fare club because we have a condo in Myrtle Beach and Spirit is one of the few airlines that flies there non-stop. I find it worth it. For $40 a year (unless the price went up), you get access to flight discounts and I believe now you don't have to pay the carry on fees. The prices you are given are at least $9 less than the advertised prices for normal fliers. The $9 or "cheapest" fares seem to be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays though or other days during the off season (which I'm not sure if there really is one in FLL - in Myrtle, it's during the winter months).

I have never had any issues with them - I do know that other people have had problems though.

I find that Delta and Jet Blue have the best rates. The best I ever got was $165/rt per person but more recently I paid $185.

I fly Southweat to Ft Lauderdale 3-4x per year, out of Islip. I've paid as little as $79 - and the most I pay is $129 - there are fares more than that but I won't fly then. The prices vary days/months/even flights during the day.

*Edit - but SW has the Rapid Rewards - not a credit card - aka a frequent flyer - I think it's 8 round trip tickets in a 2 year period and you get a free round trip ticket. There is no fee for this club, I get afree ticket almost every year.
