36 week appointment

I went for my 36 week appointment and there's no progress yet. I was really hoping he would say that I'm starting to dialate because I can't imagine another 4 more weeks of this. I'm so uncomfortable, I don't remember when I had a full night's sleep or didn't wake up feeling worse than I did when I went to sleep.

I had to go to the dr by myself and the only spot I found was two blocks away. I almost fell immediately when I got out of the car and then about another ten times on the way there. It was so bad that I started crying - thinking I'd never actually reach the dr's office and wondering how I'd walk back to the car afterwards. Worst part was that in front of my dr's office wasn't even shoveled or salted from all the ice today - even the stairs! I told him I almost fell on his stairs and he kind of like brushed it off. I was so mad.

Then I asked him if the nurse could write me a note for today and tomorrow since I was too scared to go into work and he looked at me like I was being a baby. I am not very happy with my doctor right now!

That sucks! They should certainly make sure that the stairs and walkways are cleared at the doctors office!!!

Be careful out there. It is really supposed to be bad tomorrow so if you can I would stay home

I'm so sorry to hear that! They really should have done something about that sidewalk! Very dangerous!

BTW, your baby is just waiting for mine.

Sorry you had a bad experience today.

My doc didn't start doing internals until 37 weeks.

Just FYI... you won't sleep once the baby is here either... but it'll be for a different (and better) reason.

Hang in there!!!! Your DD isn't doing cooking just yet!!

sorry to hear that you have no progress....even sorrier to hear how inconsiderate your doctors office is....of all places, they should make sure the ice is all scraped or at the very least put down a ton of salt

I was thinking about that this morning....although if you go any longer people are going to think you're lying about the baby and just put on weight!

Awwww....I know where you are coming from. Sounds like a similar trek with a 3 yr old in a stroller over mounds of snow, slush and ice only to get my appt cancelled after waiting in the waiting room for over an hour contracting the entire time!!! (I am 35 weeks.) When they told me they had to cancel my appt - I just broke and started crying....this weather stinks and doesn't making pregnant commuting any easier for us.....

And don't worry too much about no progress....you never know when the baby is coming. My first baby was born the first day of my 37th week. My water broke and I wasn't barely a fingertip dilated!!! My 2nd I was dilated 3 cm for like 3 weeks....so you just never know!

That totally s ucks!!!! But pat yourself on the back- you did it safe and sound!
I have my 36 week next Wednesday- and this Friday I have to go to LIJ for a growth sono (again)

I also hope there is SOME progress... but who knows?!

I feel the same as you - can't possibly imagine another 4 weeks of this. I am soooo done.

I'm sorry about your Dr. What an @ss. I cant believe not only that you'd be forced to park so far away, but then the fact that they didn't even shovel or salt their property is ridiculous. I hope he at least wrote that note for you so you can be home resting.
