Can my coughing fit harm my baby?

I had such a bad cough last night and I felt so bad for the baby! I think everything is ok right?

I don't think one coughing fit(even a huge one) can but prolonged coughing ( I was told) is not great for your LO. . there is a robitussin made for diabetics that basically has nothing alcohol etc in it that my doc recommended. .
that said DON"T STRESS!!! I think we have all coughed many many times and babies are fine but if you can prevent it, it can be good..

I had a horrible cold when I was about 16 weeks preggo, & w/ my colds always comes a really bad cough. The bad news is that you can't really take much for a cough when preggo... just have to cough it up & let it take its course. But, my doc & her nurse said it wouldn't harm the baby, & all of my future doc appts (I am now almost 29 weeks preggo) showed that the baby is fine. So, I can't imagine much of a worse cough... if mine is fine, I'm sure yours will be too.

I had bronchitis @ 15.5wks with my 1st. I did have a little bleeding, but that could've also been because I slipped on the ice and busted my azz - yes, that happened the same day as my bronchitis diagnosis. A sono confirmed that everything was OK, AND they were able to tell me it was a boy!

The baby will be fine, but be careful with how hard you cough. Last pregnancy I had a terrible cough and it injured a rib muscle and i had to sit up straight for 2 weeks-I could hardly move. The baby will be fine no matter what, but I wouldnt want to see you go through what I did.

I often wonder this but with my sneezing!! I sneeze daily and multiple times a day and wonder if it would hurt the baby.
