Re: stroller question
I think that if you plan on using the bassinet than keep it. Our stroller has a bassinet and I'm also getting the car seat attachment. I figure I'll use the bassinet when we are walking around the neighborhood which we'll likely do alot because we have a big dog that needs to be walked and our town is walkable so I do all my errands in walking distance. I'll use the car seat attachment when I'm going car to stroller. I think bassinets are great, but short lived so if you don't think you'll do a ton of walking without the baby going in the car first than maybe return it?

Re: stroller question
i loved having a bassinet attchment - especially for walking in the winter - i would dress my son warmly then swaddle and he took a great nap as we walked - it was much easier then worrying about straps plus he was so protected inside the bassinet from the elements that we went out every day that way

Re: stroller question
I will be honest. I don't think you need the bassinet since you are having a winter baby. By the time the weather is nice enough to use it the baby will have outgrown it. I would rather put the money towards something that will be used more often.

Re: stroller question
i would keep it. ds was born in oct and we used the bassinett part to the bugaboo all the time - i hated keeping him cramped up in the car seat. we went to mall and took walks.. even kept him in the bassinette part in the house.

Re: stroller question
I am still confused....
I just don't see myself using it. Especially since our infant car seat is compatible.

most docs recomend that infants are only in there car seats when travveling in the car - unless because of reflux they need to sleep upright
sittign upright makes it harder for them to breath - so if you plan on walking the bassinet option is better - also because there are not straps - if the baby is sleeping it is easy o put them in - plus you can usally take th bassinet attachment and bring them into the house without waking them
i would use the car seat attachment for stores and walks use the bassinet

Yes it is great for long walks. I don't think you are going anywhere soon in this weather. By the time it warms up it will be late April/May and you don't know if the baby will fit well at that point.

The car seat does not but the actual stroller does.

Re: stroller question
the bassinet sits flat -
most car seat adapters have the seat a slightly reclined angle but you can't adjust the angle
also - fresh air is great for the baby and the new mom -as long as you bundle up you can take the abby out in any weather - it helps prevent cabin fever and it helps the baby sleep better i think
i have a dog so i had to walk at least once a day but there were lots of days that we went on two walks just to get out of the house
the day of a storm it is a little tricky to maneuveur but after that i have no problem taking my non-jogging stroller out -
there is no reason you should wait till to start walking unless your doc tells you otherwise -it helps to exercise to feel better

I agree walking is great but there really isn't anything wrong with the baby being in the car seat while you go for short walks.... I could understand if she was out for hours.......
My DC were always laying flat in the crib and only on an incline while in the car seat or swing so it wasn't all day every day. I didn't see the problem with that.

ok so then the stroller reclined serves the same purpose as the bassinet?

Yes and no. PERSONALLY I wouldn't put a baby under 3-4 months in the main stroller but I guess I am strange in that thinking since I know others that do it and don't see a problem with it. Also depending on the brand of stroller it may not go totally flat but probably pretty close... it may be on a slight incline ( mine does not go totally flat )
