Do you always trigger?
All these IUI posts have got me thinking, do you do the Ovidrel shot every time you have an IUI? I don't do it every month. Some months, I surge on my own so my dr doesn't have me do it. Just wondering what others do.

Me too, but as far as I know I haven't surged on my own prior to the trigger.

Re: Do you always trigger?
i always did trigger. why wouldnt you guarantee ovulation within 36 hours instead of having to wonder when exactly your body did it on its own? it just seems to make more sense medically, especially when critically timing IUIs.

Re: Do you always trigger?
I've always surged on my own. During IUIs I did the Ovidrel shot twice and surged on my own once. Usually your doc wants to be in control of your surge to plan the timming of your IUI properly, and that's why they prefer to usu the trigger even if you are able to surge on your own.

Re: Do you always trigger?
my dr. triggers me for the IUI with hcg.
the first month of clomid the monitoring showed that my surge came too late, and my 2 lead follies got HUGE (arguably "overcooked") so now we trigger based on the size we see in the sono.

Re: Do you always trigger?
Thanks for the replies ladies. Since I surge on my own mr dr seems to like to let me go on my own. I've only used ovidrel once. Sounds like other drs do it differently.
