I'm an idiot....please dont judge me....

so had an iui last Saturday, went as well as can be expected...I was ok all week but was home alone last night, husband was away for work. I was bored, ate ice cream for dinner and watched a morbid movie solo, since I did not tell anyone I had an IUI, my plans for Friday night with my friends were limited....i woke up today and I guess I was possessed because I took a pregnancy test and it showed a +......

I know its way to early, and I broke the cardinal 2ww rule, and that its most likely a false + positive due to the HCG shot I had last Friday....I really dont know what I was thinking....the next week is going to be god awful, until I get a beta done or get my AF...

I am such an idiot, to those ladies that are in their 2WW, dont succumb to taking a test prematurely, its totally screwing with my mind right now, taking it today was just wayyyy too early.....

when was your trigger? how + was the test? was it very light?

I am really so upset with myself, I dont know what I was thinking...I had my trigger at 8am last Friday.....the line that showed up right way was very dark, the 2nd one to make the + was a little bit lighter...

I read that the trigger shot stays in your system for awhile after it which could produce a false positive......

did you do ovidrel trigger? from the +/- HPTs i have used the first line on a +/- test is part of the control, so its always there and dark. the second line that makes the + is the test line. although the +/- tests are def not recommended, esp. if they are blue dye. theyve been known for false +s. always use FRER or if you are testing wayyyy too early use $$tree.

honestly 8 days post trigger im surprised youd get a dark BFP. the trigger was always gone for me by then. but its also wayyyyy too early to get a real dark BFP. so yeah you wouldve prob been better off not testing at all

Ugh! Hopefully it turns out to be a real one

I screwed myself up with OPKs, thinking it was a surge and not realizing it was b/c of the trigger.

I asked at my last IUI when I can test and he said not before 11dp first IUI. Not sure if that's because it would be a false + before that or because its kinda nuts to ever test before that anyway. I have to go for a beta too to make sure it's not chemical.

I'm glad you posted b/c I would have been asking the same ? next week. At least the trigger kinda keeps me from testing too soon. This 2ww is the WORST since it's the first med/iui.

If anything positive can come from me acting like a little kid looking for her hidden x-mas presentes before x-mas, let it be to WAIT until your are scheduled for your beta.....

I am just going to try to keep positive, and hope that Fridays comes with no AF in sight.........

you need the beta if you are on progesterone.
if you arent you prob dont need the beta unless you get a +HPT. most REs wont do betas to check for chemicals unless you get a +HPT. if you arent on progesterone you can just wait for AF, but progesterone could delay AF if you are not pregnant which is why you need the beta.
