Why does my meat fall apart in the crockpot?
I am getting so annoyed. A few weeks ago I made a roast pork in the crockpot with sauerkraut. It fell apart and shredded. I thought maybe I bought the wrong type of pork.
Tonight, I made the cranberry pot roast recipe someone posted on here. It held together while cooking but as soon as I cut the first piece, it fell apart on me. And I know I used the right cut of meat.
What am I doing wrong????

If you don't want your meat to fall apart, I recommend using a dutch oven. It might still fall apart a bit, but nothing like a slow cooker which is meant to get the meat so tender that it falls apart.

I didn't realize every time you cook meat in the crockpot, that's what its supposed to do it just shred apart like pulled pork.
I guess next time I'll try using the oven if I don't want it to fall apart.

Re: Why does my meat fall apart in the crockpot?
the meat is so tender from the crockpot that this is just what happens. Plus it isn't drying out since there is usually liquid in there. I know it may not look as pretty as you want it, but usually meat done in there is just so good! Sounds like you are not doing anything wrong in cooking it. :)
