Made the appointment. . .

So I finally made the appointment to see the RE. It has been a year of unsuccessful TTC, but now I feel like crying. I know it’s for the best, but I can’t help feeling defeated.
Thanks for letting me vent. Not a lot of people understand. If I hear one more “you just need to relax”, I may just punch someone.

Congratulations on taking that step! It's not easy to come to that decision. It took me 1 1/2 years to finally accept that we had a problem Don't feel defeated, because hopefully soon you will have a reason as to why you are not getting pregnant. Think of it as getting some extra help for you to achieve that goal.

I hear ya about the "just try and relax" thing. One of my best friends still tells me just don't stress. Thank goodness she doesn't live in NY or I would have strangled her by now...

Good luck. I know it seems overwhelming now, but once you start going for tests and getting some answers, it will feel good to be moving forward.

It was so hard for me when I went to see the RE for the first time. When they did my intake the nurse said something about infertility. Up until then no one had said that word. I swear I felt like I got punched in the gut.

The good thing about taking the step to see the RE is to remember that their job is getting women pregnant. This is their specialty. That always made me feel better.

I hate when people say relax or don't think about it. That definitely deserves a punch in my book . Keep us posted on what happens. GL!

I was in denial for a while because I did a lot of testing with my OB GYN before I started with the RE (my first appointment was yesterday) so when one of my bills from the doctors office came and they coded my visit as a infertility consult, I lost it!!! I was yelling, tellling DH that I am not infertile... "Why would they put that??"

I know how you feel...

Going to the RE was the best decision I made. I was previously seeing an OB who wasn't taking me seriously at all.

I know it sounds overwhelming at first, but once you have a plan and a protocol, it will be exciting!

That first step is the hardest. An emotional, overwhelming step it is. But it will be so worth it, I promise

I understand your feelings completely! Next week is one year TTC for us as well. We got pregnant in June and m/c in August, then had to wait a few months. I feel like we "wasted" 5 months. Now all these people that weren't even trying when we started last Feb are pregnant and know the sex and I'm still not. It's soooo hard! I just started seeing a specialist too. I had my baseline eval done last week. All looked good and normal, who knows what that means. I have to go back this week for a saline u/s.

Good Luck!! I think seeing the specialist is a good thing and will help put your mind at ease!

Took us over a yr to come to the decision....you made a big step...now you will have some direction....good luck
