NYS mandate for unlimited IUIs??
What is NYS mandate for unlimited IUIs?
I am now having issues with my RE charging my IUIs towards my $10K lifetime limit, even though i was told those money will be saved for IVF

i dont know what insurance you have, but for me IUIs would be under my $30k lifetime infertility benefits.

You have to look at your policy. Many policies with lifetime limits include treatment for IUI within that lifetime limit just like some include the cost of medication in the fertility lifetime limit. If your policy specifically excludes IUI's, then there should not be an issue. If your policy includes IUI's within their lifetime fertility limit...not sure what you can do except to try to have anything which is not exclusively a fertility treatment re-coded so that it is not charged as part of a "fertility treatment."

we have the same insurance UHC, maybe diff plan.
do you mean that each IUI's cost wil be deducted from your $30K?

My insurance covers diagnosis, treatment, surgery and IUI under state mandate, but NO IVF. I'm not sure if that's why they are mandated to give me IUI. I don't have a lifetime allowance for any IVF.
I have Aetna and they were the ones who told me about it. I would call your insurance co.

I only get 3 IUIs per year with my insurance. When you do a back to back, that comes to coverage for 1 and a half. Does that mean the state coverage would kick in at that point? I am confused...

I think I've read that the unlimied mandate does not apply to HMO's...maybe that is the issue.
