Spotting

I spoke to my Dr./RE and they said it was from the PIO shots (progesterone), however, I started spotting this afternoon and it has continued until tonight. I 1st saw a spot on my underwear (sorry if TMI) and after there was a fair amount of brown discharge on the paper when I went to the bathroom, now its not so bad, but I'm still spotting. I haven't had any bad cramps just minor twinges here and there.

I'm really nervous...anyone have a similar experience and turn out ok? I'm currently 5w3d.

I have my 1st u/s tomorrow. Chat Icon

Re: Spotting

I believe that as long as the blood is not bright red, it isn't a problem.
I had the same thing happen to me when I was PG and everything was perfectly fiineChat Icon

Re: Spotting

thank you, that makes me feel a little better. It's dark brown, no red at all, just came on suddenly and I got super nervous. Chat Icon

Re: Spotting

Usually if the spotting is brown and you aren't crampy, its perfectly normal and nothing to worry about Chat Icon

I had spotting for 4 straight hours when I was about 6 weeks or so. Even some red blood too and everything turned out to be ok. Just wanted to give you hugs! Chat Icon Let us know how everything goes.

Just so you know - I was spotting brown with Ryan and then all of a sudden I felt a big GUSH - I was so scared I went to the Dr. all freaked out and it turned out to be all ok. I spotted for almost 2 weeks. Try not to worry.

BTW: I am 6 weeks now & spotting brown - the Dr. office said brown is no big deal - it's old blood. Good Luck and keep us posted. Chat Icon Chat Icon

After my IVF I also spotted. I think I was 5 and a half to 6 weeks. Everything turned out fine, and I am now 32 weeks PG with twins!

Re: Spotting

went for my 1st u/s today and saw my little bean. My RE said that he has no explanation for the spotting but said he's not concerned at all being as everything looked great.

We also saw that it was just a singleton and my beta number is up to 2143 today. I was told I should hear a heartbeat next week and once you hear the heartbeat the rate of m/c goes down to 10%. So I'm praying all goes well into next week.

Thanks everyone for your responses and putting me at ease.

Glad all is well. I see that you are only 5 weeks. That is still early to tell if you are having twins. My RE said that by 6-7 weeks you can tell. Mine showed up at my 6 week mark when I was bleeding and and walked out of there being told I was having twinsChat Icon

He said that there was still a chance but was pretty confident it was just one, but said you won't know for sure just yet. One, two any number works for me as long as they're healthy!!! Thanks and I'll keep you updated Chat Icon
