DH an I are talking about going to Italy next year and we definately want to do a tour.
Can anyone recommend a tour group they have used?
Also when is the best time of year to go to Italy?

I like travelling to Italy in April and May. Its not too hot and early in the tourist season. As for tours, I've only every booked tours with the hotel in which i stayed.

we tried to book a tour through globus tours. unfortunately they canceled our tour dates because not enough people signed up and we wound up doing everything on our own. my friend did go on the globus tour and really liked it!
we went in august and it was REALLY hot! have a wonderful time!!

I did Trafalgar and loved it. I went in the beginning of May, great time of year, right before it gets hot.
The weather there is like the weather here pretty much. I would not want to walk around in July and August.

Thanks everyone. I was looking at both Trafalgar and Globus. We were also thinking of either May or September.

It's cheapest to go between January and March 31st. Prime time is summer. If you go in May or September, be prepared to pay about $1k per person for flights.
