Could I be getting AF this early?

My IVF retrieval was Thursday, so that would make me 4dpo. I am not going to transfer, so I am not on any progesterone support. I also took a Lupron trigger, so that suppresses my hormone production. I just went to the bathroom and I am spotting and not the same spotting that I get after retrieval.

I would be happy because then I can start the process for the FET, but I just feel like it's super early for AF???

Anyone have any ideas or experience this???

Thanks!

one cycle i hyperstimmed and was taken off all meds prior to trigger. i did not do a trigger, i literally stopped all meds cold turkey!! i got AF at about 5DPO. i didnt understand at all how that was possible, but Dr. B didnt seem concerned. maybe its the same for you??

Thanks so much. Maybe - I don't want to email or call until I know it's AF. I thought I might get it early without the progesterone, but I just didn't think it would be this early.

Re: Could I be getting AF this early?

I got AF 4 days after retrieval. I never made it to transfer either so I wasn't on progesterone support. I was on the long Lupron protocol, which means I was suppressed with Lupron before I started stimming. I think that all the suppression meds really shut down the natural hormone production and if not on progesterone support bleeding starts because the body cannot support the lining on it's own because of the suppression of it's natural hormones. Of course, I'm no doctor but this is my understanding of why this might happen! Chat Icon

I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions. Could a LP be so short with IVF? Maybe because nothing was transferred your hormone levels could have dropped so drastically that AF could be on it's way.

It sounds like it would be a good thing though, so I hope so for your sake.Chat Icon
