light cream for alfredo question
i was wondering if anyone had ever made an alfredo sauce using light cream instead of heavy cream? i saw light cream at the store so i picked it up, and so far the only recipe i can find doing a search uses light cream and butter... i was looking for a "lightened" up version of alfredo so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!

Re: light cream for alfredo question
Try this........I found it when I started WW, and it's delicious
Laughing Cow Alfredo Sauce Serving Size : 4
1 cup skim milk 1 Tbsp light margarine 6 wedges Laughing Cow cheese (I use the garlic and herb) 1 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese 1 Pinch garlic powder
In a medium-sized saucepan, combine all the ingredients until everything is melted and the sauce is velvety smooth, about 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

Re: light cream for alfredo question
You should be able to sub light cream for heavy cream with no problem. Sauce might not be as thick or as rich, but should still taste the same.

Absolutely!
I have actually used skim and regular milk instead of heavy cream all together.. it's called poor man's alfredo.. just butter, milk, parmesan, salt and pepper.. THAT'S it! ;O)

Re: light cream for alfredo question
I've definitely swapped heavy for light cream for Alfredo and it tastes the same to me!
