Re: If you have a personal trainer

I'm terrible with math, and my brian hurts trying to figure it out.....so I'll just list what my package is.
I signed up for a year. I get 2 half hour training sessions a week for $240 a month, so it's about $30 per session.
There was no sign up fee.

I think it's about what they offered you for the 20 package deal.

I would do it. I'm TERRIBLE with working out, but having a trainer has kept me going back to the gym for 6 months now at least twice a week. And it keeps me accountable...which I need. Because I have zero motivation to work out.
(I'm pretty much the laziest person on earth)

Off the top of my head (I can't even remember what I paid!) that looks to be in about the right range. If you shop around you could probably find one cheaper- I just used the one at my gym.

Re: If you have a personal trainer

Thanks ladies - this is at the gym I just joined, and it includes three sessions for free (an assessment + customized program + 2 sessions, with a follow up in 6 weeks.

I want to see how these three sessions go first, and make the decision from there.

Those prices are just about average for Nassau County. They are average prices for a qualified trainer, someone who holds a current certification or has a degree.
It kills me when people don't ask their trainer what their qualifications are - a lot of gyms don't even check up on credentials. Just make sure you are getting the service you're paying for.

I know the owners of the guy, and a very good friend of mine's hubby is a trainer and told me to ask a load of questions, including confirming the certifications.

I'm in Bklyn, so I figured the prices may be a bit higher compared to Nassau.
