OK so Ryan

is giving me a real hard time about eating baby food....and to be honest- he really isnt all that interested in his bottles anymore either...

Its not even about self feeding- because even the table food I give him- he rarely feeds himself.... Im still feeding him....

I guess he just likes the taste better...???

What should I do- I always try to get his usual amount of jarred food into him before offering him any table food (so the table food is an extra- and I know that he has def. eaten enough) but lately he eats about half of one jar (never touches the 2nd) and I end up feeding him bits and pieces of my dinner or whatever I have in the house-that he can eat....

Giving him the table food dosent even bother me- but my concern is- how do I know how much is enough- For instance- if Im gonna give him pastina for dinner- how much pastina should he eat? Or if Im gonna cut up pieces of turkey and cheese- how much of a serving is enough?????

As far as bottles go- we are down to 3 8oz bottles a day- but he totally wants nothing to do with the 2nd bottle- and I dont think 16oz are enough...

I think a big part of not wanting to eat- is because now that he's mobile- he wants nothing to do with sitting in a highchair- but I also believe he has just lost interest in baby food....

What should I do???

My mom thinks the formula is so thick and is making him feel fuller longer- but who knows....

Any suggestions?

Re: OK so Ryan

What you are feeling is normal!! What he's doing is normal. 16 oz's isn't that bad, esp if he's eating a lot of food.

You'll know if he's not had enough because he'll act like when he was younger and cried and cried until you gave him something! Even with the table food, since both started early, I feed it to them to make sure they get enough while they feed themselves. If it helps, save a baby food jar (clean) and fill it with food and see where you are at with his amount.

they go through this when they get mobile. He'll eat when he is hungry. Just trust your gut and follow his cues.

I agree. I give Miranda whatever she wants. If she wants table food I give her that. If she eats the baby food then that's great too. She's not going to let herself go hungry. I wouldn't worry about it.
