Hi! Newbie here!!

Hi! I'm an avid cooker (cook?) and baker!

So my question to you is...

How often do you use unfamiliar ingredients? I'm watching a show, and they're using a blood orange... I'll be honest - I will probalby never use a blood orange!

Any scardies like me??

Nope, not afraid to use new ingredients, especially if I'm seeing how it's being used.

Welcome!

If a recipe I really want to try has a strange ingredient, I'll go for it. But I don't seek out strange ingredients.

I too have never used a blood orange!

I've never used or eaten blood oranges, but I'd actually love to! I drank something flavored with blood oranges and it was delicious!

I too don't seek out new ingredients, but I'm open to using them!

Re: Hi! Newbie here!!

Sometimes when I read a recipe and I see ingrediants that Im not used to cooking with then I dont even bother to do the recipe.

I got a bunch of books for the holidays with all kinds of interesting recipes, but basically there just picture books because I'm not about to restock the pantry with toasted sesame oil and smoked paprika!

I'm not opposed to a blood orange, though. But they dont' have them at shoprite in bay shore! oh well.
