What is the safest zero calorie sweetener?
I'm so confused by all the science behind the artificial sweeteners. Whats considered the best choice these days?

I know that Nutrition Action newsletter usually says Splenda is considered very safe, and I think stevia too.

ITA. My doctor always tells me to stay away from artificial sweetners so I will use agave nectar, honey or regular sugar

I know you said zero calorie, but I only use real sugar or honey... It's only a few calories and I won't get into all the physiology behind it, but in general you're better off using the real stuff.

I agree, I mostly use blackstrap molasses or agave. If I am making a special recipe I'll use what it calls for, but try to eat in moderation.
I have found that eliminating extra sugar has changed my taste buds I don't want things as sweet anymore.

I try not to buy much artificially sweetened stuff. I will use any of the Stevia branda if I need some in my tea or coffee. Otherwise I buy stuff with sugar and just eat in moderation.

i would use stevia or raw agave - not sure about the calorie count but they are great, natural sweetners.
