Remember the score I got on the via spiga boots?
well....ppffftt...they didn't fit my calves and are going back.
They are really narrow in the calves.

they fit great in the shoe part.
Maybe I'll exchange for the shoe bootie version. They are great with pants and cheaper!
I have thicker calves but not that bad so these did run narrow.

I find that a lot of the higher end designers run narrow in the calf

If you zip the boot up first and then pull it up on your leg, sometimes you can get it to fit. I don't know why this works but it does!
