Port Jeff Train Station and places to eat?
Is the train station located near restaurants?
Does not have to be fancy, just close by so we can walk from the station and have a bite to eat (we will have two kids with us, no stroller)
the PJ Village is to far for us to walk

Well, right by the tracks is Tara Inn which is popular but not really that family oriented, so I would say Port Jeff Lobster House is your best bet. If you have your back to the train station & you’re facing route 112 you walk to the right 1 block. It’s on the corner of North Country Road & Route 112.

There is Hana too which is Japanese or Grumpy Jacks. They are the opposite direction of Taras and Lobster House.

That is what I was going to say. It still has a "family" feel even if it is a bar.

PJ lobster house would be your best bet. but the village isn't really that much further past it

Right across from the train station is Fun For All. You can let the kids run around and get some pizza in there (not uusally the tastiest pizza but the kids never complain). My boys love it there. You can also find online coupons for Fun for All on their website. Its a great way to avoid cabin fever!

I think the OP has small children and no stroller so it might be far for them?

I think getting to the village isn't terrible, but in the winter I would never. And coming back up that hill and with kids. No way.
Grumpy jacks or Hana I think are good choices. Grumpy Jacks more so if you have kids.

Re: Port Jeff Train Station and places to eat?
thanks for all the suggestions. We don't have time to get into the village, I need something near the train station.
we are taking the train to just take the train but instead of just getting back on, I thought lunch would be cute. we will have about 2 hours before the next train, really more like an hour and a half to kill.
