I make mine with oli and onions. I brown the onions in the oil, drain the peas and put in. Better then plain peas but without the pearl onions as im not a fan of them.

Re: Anyone have a new spin on peas?
Plain with buter and sea salt or creamed.
Creamed peas my mom's way : Make a slurry of corn starch and cold water. Drain some of the cooking water and reserve. Make sure the rest of the cooking water is at a boil and slowly stir in the slurry to the desired thickness. Add a nice shot of heavy cream and heat thru. Add more of the slurry mixture if the cream sauce is not thick enough, or the reserved cooking water / more cream if the sauce is too thick. Salt and white pepper to taste.

Re: Anyone have a new spin on peas?
the only way we have ever eaten them since growing up: open a can of peas and put in a casserole type dish with alittle water and olive oil...dump a bunch of breadcrumb on top....mix and bake in the over or even a toaster oven.
if it seems dry when you mix it add more water.
any veggie tastes good covered in breadcrumbs!

We do peas & Mushrooms.
Sautee a sliced up onion in some oil, add in sliced mushrooms when onions start to cook, then I just add a bag of frozen peas. Too easy!
I also love peas & couscous with some butter & lots of garlic!
