Does DH use the oil for his donation?

DH and I were having a conversation regarding his last donations, and how different they were from the first donation. The 1st IUI he had 24mil and 16 mil post wash. 2nd IUI had 16mil and 9mil post wash and 4 mil and 1.5 post wash, very low.

He claims that the 2nd time he used the mineral oil and says maybe that is why it was so low. I read and supposedly it has no effect on the semen. Does anyone have any info on this or heard differently?

I don't think that he should be using anything. Of course, I would check with the doctor just to make sure.

That is what I thought. But his logic: Why would they put it in the room?

We agreed that this time he will not use it. If he did it once, then he can do it again.

Oh so they had the oil at the doctor's office in the "donation" room? Then maybe it is allowed.... interesting though. I would never thinking that it's ok to use anything. I always keeping telling my DH to wash his hands with soap and water and then rub some had sanitizer on his hands before he does anything to keep things sterile! But don't mind me, I'm just paranoid and weird!
