Feeling defeated this morning

Went for my 2nd follicle check this morning (CD16) after 150mg of clomid and NADA....I was so hoping to at least see a small amount of growth. Last cycle I did 50mg of clomid and then on CD16 up'd it to 100mg of clomid and finally on day CD30 I had a 24.5 follie. I was so hoping that this time starting out with an even higher dose would help me ovulate, but nope. Waiting for dr to call me - I think they are going to have me start a 200mg dose of clomid today. I was so hoping to get pregnant for ChristmasChat Icon And it's so awful, but all I can keep thinking is that since it takes me so long to ovulate that I lose so much time and it seems like my cycles take 2 months instead of 1. DD is 21 months, so I know healthy pregnancy is possible, I just can't understand why it is so difficult this time. I can't help but wonder if I am just meant to be a singleton mom. I know that I am very blessed to have a healthy beautiful little girl running around, but I don't want her to grow up alone.

OK - pity party in full effect now.

Re: Feeling defeated this morning

Maybe Clomid isn't for you. I was on 5 cycles of Clomid and it did help regulate my cycle but not increase my viable follicle count. We are now moving in injectables and hopefully this will be it.

This process is so draining and does get the best of you. I hope you get pointed in the right direction at your next appt. Good luck! Chat Icon

yeah i think clomid prob isnt the best choice either. im surprised you even did another cycle of it if you didnt O until dose 2 CD30 on it last cycle. i would think injectables would make a lot more sense. does your RE have a new plan of action for you??

if you did develop one follie on clomid, theres absolutely no reason to believe you will not have another child. that's just defeatism creeping in. rationally it may take longer but theres no reason you cant have another kid or two or three. good luck!!

Re: Feeling defeated this morning

i noticed that higher dose of clomid does not guarantee better response. i actually had the same and slower response on 100 mg vs.50mg.
do you have PCOS? some women are resistant to clomid. DO not get too worked up over this, there are other options ( such as injectables). GL!
