Cleaning chicken
I just run under cold water but others clean with vinegar....not sure if I should start doing that instead.
How do you clean your chicken?

Re: Cleaning chicken
I never clean my chicken. I figure any germs die when it is cooking. Is that bad??

Re: Cleaning chicken
cleaning chicken actually spreads germs to counters/sinks/hands/etc ... Cooking to the correct temperature (160 breast, 180 thigh, let stand for 5 minutes) kills off any germs.

Re: Cleaning chicken
When I use bone in, I usually put it in a bowl with cold water and salt, let it sit for a bit, then dry and trim. Cutlets I just pat dry with a paper towel.
Cleaning a chicken or its parts will not get rid of any germs, only proper cooking will do that.
