My dh went away with his
friends as their "last hoorah" before the babies come (2 are due in August and us in Nov).
What are your thoughts? Where's my last hoorah?
to make it worse my mom was going to come stay with me since I'm nervous in the new house by myself and her car is in the shop. Now I'm all alone in a new house in a new county

Sorry you are all alone- can't you go pick up your mom???
And as for the last hurrah- I would save it for AFTER the baby and treat myself to a weekend at the spa with the girls and have lots of drinks and let my DH take care of the baby.

Eh, other than the occasional scary looking man with the bad mullet, Putnam's pretty quiet!  
Just to clarify, my DH does not have a mullet any more.

Just to clarify, my DH does not have a mullet any more.

My mom is in LI and it's about an hour and half - I guess I could go get her but I don't want to go anywhere near LI tomorrow with all the traffic to the Hamptons. At least her coming to me is the opposite direction.
Good idea about saving my get away until after the baby is born

Ahh... I didn't realize it was so far. I would take advantage of the quiet- God knows we won't have it for long.
As for saving the trip, I asked my DH is we were going to have a "babymoon" and with the new house, he looked at me like I was nuts. My brother pointed out a trip would be much more fun once I didn't feel like falling asleep at 8pm, was not on strange food restrictions and could have some adult beverages. I never thought of it that way.

I told DH that the second I was done BF that he was going to watch the baby so I could go out and get drunk with my friends!
