So disappointed.....
DH and I were chosen to be on a new reality show and he won't do it.
The show is for overweight couples who want to lose weight and work on their differences in the process.
We would have gotten 4 months of Personal Training, Nutritional Counseling and Relationship couseling.
Everything is taped either at our home or locally and we would only be featured on 1 epsiode (similar to a hoarders or intervention format).
The worst part is- I told him I was going to apply- he said "cool!" We went to an in person interview- he wasn't thrilled about it- but agreed. It wasn't until after that that he said he wouldn't do it.
I got a call last night from a casting director. He said "I spoke to your husband earlier and he said you guys were no longer interested, I was calling to find out why you changed your mind"
DH never told me he spoke to anyone. 
I feel like this was such a great opportunity for us to do something together and to learn to become partners again since it seems like we are always at odds lately.
Oh well....sux for me, I guess.

He knows. Doesn't care. He just doesn't want to- but he can't give me an answer as to why.

I'm sorry. I understand how you are feeling. DH and I were chosen to be on a reality show for our wedding and DH backed out. In the end I am glad we didn't do it, but I was pretty disappointed at first too.

I don't know............I personally wouldn't want to be on a reality show to air all of my "issues" to the world. Maybe this is his concern, as well.
Why not consider doing these things w/o the show?

Sorry you are disappointed.
Weight loss is a very personal issue for most people.
I think he "went along" with the idea to make you happy not knowing that you would probably be chosen.

i agree, maybe he is uncomfortable being exposed to a milliion people and weight is something really personal/touchy...

I kind of a agree. Weight and relationship issues are a lot to put out to the world.
I do think he should have told you this upfront though so as not to get your hopes up.
I hope you two can work on this stuff together even w/o being on a show.

DH and I did a bathroom show on HGTV which was a lot of fun, but I have to agree with the others - weight and relationship issues are such private areas for many people, and I can totally understand why someone wouldn't feel comfortable displaying those things to the world. But maybe this can stir you to talking about alternative ideas to get at some of your problems, like couples counseling?
