Feast of the 7 Fishes

HEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP

Why I volunteered to host this, when I have only ever cooked shrimp before, I dont know!

What are some simple things to make?

And if it only adds up to 4 or 5 fish, Im ok with that!

Do you care about it being the traditional 7 fishes or you are just looking for a seafood dinner?

We usually have:
-shrimp parmigiana
-linguini with white clam sauce
-lobster tails
-fried filet
-salmon with dill sauce

and then one other thing, depends on what my MIL gets but usually sea bass or something like that

Re: Feast of the 7 Fishes

Did you see the Food Network episode of Bobby Flay's Throwdown?

Rao's challenged him to a feast of the 7 fishes.

Some great dishes including a very simple cold seafood salad. (from Rao's)

I won't tell you who won in case you want to watch.

We usually do the following:

linguine with shrimp
fried calamari
lobster
baked salmon
tilapia
mussels

And my MIL usually throws in another white fish or something. I might be missing something but you get the idea.

Re: Feast of the 7 Fishes

DH's parents does this every year.

The menu consists of:

Linguini with red clam sauce to start (MIL also makes a plain marinara).
Baked clams
Stuffed shrimp
Fried shrimp
Fried calamari
Lobster tails
some kind of regular baked fish.

I know I am leaving a couple others out.

I know they do bakalow or however the heck you spell it........

also chicken parm and some kind of beef usually, along with a ton of sides, antipasta and heavy appetizers before dinner.

We have a chocolate and fruit course and then about a million desserts around midnight.

Re: Feast of the 7 Fishes

My family has also gone to a fish store and bought a lot of the things pre-seasoned/prepared so that all you have to do is pop it in the oven. We get:

-stuffed flounder
-stuffed mushrooms (with crab)
-shrimp scampi
-fried calamari
-stuffed clams
-scallops

The Bakkala looks very easy and so does the seafood salad.

Now Lobster Fra Diavolo looked amazing!
