regrouping and starting again
Just thought i'd give an update on where i am this month.. This past cycle DH and I got a bfp and really got our hopes up, only to get a negative beta at the dr. Was probably a false positive, or even a chemical. Doesn't really matter at this point My DH really took this one hard though (because of the false positive) and has almost reached his breaking point. I'm ok now.. just want to get started with a new cycle.
So, we decided that this month we're not going to do a monitored cycle and take another short break (keep trying on our own of course) Because if i get a bfn, it would be right around xmas and neither of us wants the holidays ruined again (thanksgiving was HARD)
I met with my RE last week and we decided to do a few more medicated IUI cycles where we're going to be even more aggressive with the meds. I'm ready for it, and eager to move on come January. He said if that doesn't work, he's suggesting we move on to ICSI as we'd be ideal candidates. DH and I have to get our $$ saved so probably can't do it until the springtime, but i'm glad we at least have a plan in place. To be honest, i think we're both a little scared of starting ICSI because its our last hope. If that first one doesn't work, we're SOL
I continue to come on here for all your support and hopefully be able to contribute myself. Just wanted to say thanks again to all the fabulous and strong ladies on here. You guys are my rock.. I only wish DH had something like this since i feel like he's the one who needs it more than i do!

Re: regrouping and starting again
I know exactly where you are coming from. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving I got a postive Beta. We knew not to get too excited b/c only a few months earlier I had a chemical pregnancy after my first FET. Friday morning after Thanksgiving, I went in for my 2nd Beta and turned out I was having another chemical. It was just so devastating and such a LONG 3 day weekend This time I was better prepared than my husband. Last time I was completely devastated and really in bad shape. This time I had to be the strong one for my husband b/c I felt like he was about to hit rock bottom. We are FINALLy getting back to normal as life has to go on. So, I completely understand and can relate.

I agree 100% A break gives time to be able to reconnect with DH and become intimate again. DH and I started to feel taht all the was forced and we did it, just to do it. There was no intimacy. We took a month off without really wanting to (long story) and it helped. After the month passed DH and I were excited to jump back into it. HTH
