Spinning
I have been taking spin classes at my gym for a few weeks. My rear is killing me. I am bruised in places that I didn't know could bruise. Is this a beginner's problem? I didn't want to run out and buy a gel seat if this is something that is usually only an issue for a few weeks.
Are the spin sneakers worth it? My foot hurts only during the class. It hurts from pressure from the pedal and the cage around my foot. It's annoying because I think I could push myself harder on the bike if my foot wasn't bothering me. Will the sneakers help with this?
If you do a class is that your workout for the day or do you do the class and other things? If yes what? Basically tell me what to do so my pants will fit me again.
Any and all advice is welcome and wanted. Thank you!!!!

Re: Spinning
It's totally a beginner thing, but it should go away within a month, depending on the type of bike you're own. Some bikes take longer to adjust to, like Real Ryders. Spin shoes help a lot. If wearing sneakers hinders you workout, it might be worth the investment if it's something you will continue to do. You can find a good pair for around $60-80, and make sure you buy the cleats that are compatible with the bike you ride. Spin is 100% cardio, so you can also weight train on the same day, which I would recommend doing before the Spin class.

Re: Spinning
Before investing in the shoes I would go invest in the 20 dollar gel seat! They make a HUGE HUGE difference! As a spin instructor I don't teach without one! LOVE it!

Re: Spinning
Definitely get the gel seat! It helps a lot. The shoes are worth it too especially if you plan on continuing spin class.
