AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
I am going to Dr. B on Friday after my month on the pill. I am hoping to start stims at the beginning on next week. He mentioned we may need to wait a bit because of the holiday. I think my timing will be fine, but if I need to wait, I think it will have to be at least two weeks. He said I would have to talk to Sandra about the schedule when I come in, but I am way too neurotic to wait until Friday. Does anyone know when Dr. B and AFS will be closed?
TIA!!

I heard from Judy that the lab was closed the holiday week but now Im not sure. Thanks for telling me what is going on. I was hoping to get my IVF in during the holidays but now it seems that Im going to have to wait . I was on stims last week then was taken off them and now I too am waiting for AF to come. Im going in to see him today at 4:15 so Ill ask then what the hours will be.

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
i think dr. B is on vacation the last week of the year as well. im not 100% sure but i know he said he would be on vacation sometime at the end of the year.
last year i did a cycle during the holidays and it was rough. it took longer for all of my bloodwork to come back. and getting appts was harder too. and thats when he wasnt on vacation (as far as i know)!.

Thanks so much! I still don't know if they will let me cycle this month, but if not, it will set me back a whole month.

I'm sorry you're in this situation.. the dr's office hours shouldn't mean that you have to miss out on a whole month!!

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
I feel your pain! If I get AF by a certain date I can fit in an ivf cycle before the office closes, if not I will have to wait I thought this cycle would be "easy" since dr b is having me stim straight from cd3, no bc, and he said the whole cycle should only take about 2 1/2 weeks. Hang in there.

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
Oh just wanted to add that I don't think it's right that afs is closed for 10 days! I know they all deserve a vacation but in such a time sensitive fuels I can't help but feel like they should only be closed on actual holidays. There us more than one dr there to cover each other so they can all take time off

Most facilities close during the holidays.

I'm just saying that I think 10 days is excessive to close with such a time sensitive business.

Do you mind sharing that date? I've been thinking about this all day. I just hope I don't have to wait until January.
I agree that ten days is excessive. I think everyone should have time off for the holiday, but there are enough people for it to be staggered.
It is what it is I guess. I hope you get to cycle this month!!

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
I'm figuring sonewhere around dec 8th I would need af by in order to make transfer before the 23rd. Dr b has me doing a different protocol bc of some of my issues so no bc for me, straight to Stims on day 3, hopefully day 5 transfer biut maybe a day 3 depending on the embies. I woul be cutting this extremely close and the cycle would have to go perfect, which has never happened before So what I'm hoping for is af to come asap or hold off until it's long enough that I would be stimming while they are closed and having er/et in early Jan. If that's the case I hope dr b let's me do that. I'm going to br really ****** if I have to wait to get another af after this next one

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
I should be starting stims on the 7th if all goes well. I won't be going to transfer because he wants to do a FET, but I do need someone there to check on my embryos and freeze them. I think I should be able to squeeze it in. I hope.
I hope you get AF soon!!

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
It sounds like Im in the same situation too. Im waiting for AF to come and was hoping to have things done by Christmas break so when I have off the week of the 26 I could relax. I saw Dr. B yesterday and showed him the list of dates that the lab was closed he said don't even worry about it. He was not concerned at all that the lab was closed. Im now wondering if I should just wait till January and start my next IVF even though I really wanted to do it now. Im nervous about snow and I know that sounds crazy but the thought of driving into the city during a snow storm for a transfer stresses me out. Dr. B said to see him when I get AF and decide what to do then, this cycle has been crazy. My blood work came back that I didn't ovulate and he put me on stims early then it came back that I did and my levels were off so I had to go off the stims and now Im just on lupron waiting for AF. He said if things look good then we will move a head, if not take a break to clean out. I just hate the waiting. Im sure he will do what is best for all of us it would be easier if we could plan the exact date for AF to come.

I know. The waiting is the worst. I go in on Friday and I'll let you know if he lets me start stims next week. Good luck!!

Re: AFS and Dr. B holiday hours
I'm just seeing this thread now and I'm freaking out!
I'm a patient of Dr. B's and I just got AF today and going in on Monday for my CD3 appt. I've been on Lupron for 11 days so far. If I start stimming this upcoming Tuesday like planned, then I'll be doing ER and ET during the week between Christmas and New Years. How can this be if they are closed? OMG!!!! This is crazy! No one at the office told me anything about AFS closing and I just had a failed IVF cycle with him too so I'm not new there.
I'm really upset now!

I'm sure he wouldn't have started you if you couldn't complete the cycle. Keep us posted!
