when did your baby get there SS#? Was it in the hospital? The reason i'm asking is because the form i need to fill out to add to my insurance is asking me for her SS#. TIA

Re: SS question
Yes, they will provide you with the SS form and all you have to do is fill it out and give it to the nurses and they will submit it for you. You will then receive the SS card 7-10 days after. Usually, when you have the baby, you call up your employer or insurance company and notify them of the birth of your child, then the baby will be covered using your insurance card until his/her SS card comes in and then once you provide them of the #, they will issue your baby his/her own insurance card.

Re: SS question
The baby is automatically covered under your insurance for the first 30 days then you add her. I also checked the spot on the hospital registration forms where it said that they would get the SS for me. Saved me a trouble want to go down to SS.

Re: SS question
I received the paperwork while I was in the hospital, they send everything in. I received Alison's SS card within a week of being home. Same thing with her birth certificate.
