first RE appt tomorrow with Update
i am nervous but also excited. I know i have PCOS so I am excited to just make a game plan and get started, but just nervous/anxious about the appt and if they will uncover deeper issues
Update: First, I just wanted to thank all of you for wishing me luck! I just got back from my appt with Dr. B and it went well. I really liked him. He is sending me to get a bunch of bloodwork and DH has to get a semen analysis and then we will go from there. He sounded pretty confident that with my PCOS it will just take some metaformin and/or clomid (he said another drug that is similar to clomid but i forget the name()but that it shouldn't be too difficult (unless of course we discover anything else going on). I am glad I went and am on the right track now. Thanks again ladies!

Re: first RE appt tomorrow
Just focus on one thing at a time, no need to fear there's something else wrong just yet!
Good luck!!!

Re: first RE appt tomorrow
Good luck It is a big step, but one that is worth it Better to know and be able to remedy or work with, rather than not to know and wonder
I am pretty sure you will be ok Go in with a clear head. Make sure you have written down some questions of things that you might be concerned about.

Re: first RE appt tomorrow
Good luck! The first step is the hardest. I felt so much better after my first RE appt. It felt good to get some answers and have a plan. I hope it's the same for you.

Re: first RE appt tomorrow
You will feel a lot less frustrated when you find out what the underlying issues are, if any, and that you will finally be doing something about it. I felt a sense of relief when I started off with my RE because I knew I would finally get some answers which really translates to a lot more chances for success. Here's to successful beginnings!

dr. B does a lot of testing that other REs dont. PCOS affects a lot of different functions in the body other than just ovulatory function. so there is a chance he tests and finds other things (immune or thrombo), but they are all treatable. chances are he wont run those panels on you right away (they are costly if your insurance doesnt cover it) so you may just go straight into a PCOS ovulation induction protocol. good luck!

Good luck to you! It feels so much better when you start getting a better idea of what's going on with your body.

Re: first RE appt tomorrow with Update
great to hear! does your DH do the SA at home then bring it to the lab? does Dr. B give you the sterile cup or do you have to buy that on your own?

Re: first RE appt tomorrow with Update
Good luck! The drug he'll be starting you on is femara. Again, I would feel optimistic that this will be a relatively quick ride and not think there's anything else wrong to worry about. You have no reason to feel that way at this stage!

They give you the cup there and you drop it off at the lab.
