Baby Shower
So, I'm going to my best friends baby shower this weekend. I am so happy and excited for her. I feel positive about going so far. I'm worried that once I'm there I will fall apart. She is one of the few people who knows everything that's going on with us and she's been so supportive. I just want to be able to be at her shower and be genuinely happy for her.

i think that she would understand if you show up for an hour and then leave.

Re: Baby Shower
I've so been in your place...
It can be hard, no matter how happy you are for your friend.
Would it help if you had a job - keeping the gift list, or something? Sometimes a distraction like that is better than just sitting & watching.

I agree! Hubby and I have been ttc for a while now and I have two babyshowers to attend in the next 3 weeks...ahhh! They both know about our troubles and are very supportive, but I can't help it but feel the same as you.
One of my friends just got married this past March after only knowing the guy for a year. She is 40 and he is 31. She found out she was prego 2 months after the wedding and she was not even trying.
My other friend has two children (one 16 and the other 11). She had been on the pill for a while. When I finally told her we were trying, she thought it would be nice to try together. One month later....she was prego and I still am not!
To top it all, I work monitoring OBGYN and Pediatric clinics in the city hospitals (NYC) and all I see are ladies who can't really afford to have so many kids having children left and right and they have not even been trying. Some of them are screaming at their children and I even caught one giving her 1 year old Coca-Cola in her bottle. OMG!
I don't understand! Since I decided to start TTC I have taken optimal care of my body and doing a lot of research on the best nutritional diet for a baby... Sometimes things are so unfair!!!
Sorry, to go on and on! I am just not sure how I will be able to handle the babyshowers. I want to be there for my friends and I am truly happy for them, but it hurts so much
