Invitations
So, I'm thinking about making invitations for a family (well, 2) family get together's we're having over the holidays. Any one have any good tips on how to make them look pretty? Or any good sites to get ideas and supplies from?
Thanks!!!

Re: Invitations
i do invites all the time. Depends on what type/style of invite you are doing. If its a simple single panel then all you need is a good type based program and printer. Photoshop is good for photos, not so much text. So what do you have to work with?
What feel do you want - energetic, modern, classic, fancy, etc? Colors?
Remember black always prints out best since it doesn't need to be mixed when printing via ink jet printer so i try to use black text as much as possible unless i am going to a printer or its larger then 8 pt.

Hmm...those are all very good questions, which I haven't even thought about!
Actually, that's not completely true...I was thinking of going with a one page one (I guess that's single panel?)...with the background paper being a silverish and then have a white one on top, in some kind of nicer cardstock. I wanted to incorporate snowflakes in some way, so I bought one of those scrapbooking stampers and was thinking about punching out snowflakes and using those somehow...So I would say more of a classic type, nothing too fancy since it's just going to family (most of which already know about us having people over, but I just feel like sending out real invitations!)
I would preferably like to print them at home, but have no clue what kind of printer we have...

Re: Invitations
Okay well this i can help you with. You can't print white what you can do is what is called a reverse which is flood the sheet with a color and make the text the color of the paper. Print a non-metallic silver so a gray tint and make that your entire background. Then type out what you want to say etc in white and when you print it out and cut it out it will look like the paper is silver with white text.
Then once that is out then do your diecut punches it will really look nice!
