Red Couches?

Here's the story. Our living room leads into our den, so the colors need to blend. The walls in both rooms are a tanny beige color (dont know the name because previous owners painted them and we decided to keep them the same). In the living room I ordered a sage green microseude couch with brown leather arm chair and ottoman. Now I need a couch for the den. Beiges don't look right becuase the walls are already a shade - but a clashing shade. I don't want to go brown because it's too dark and will make a tiny room even tinier. So, I am considering a red microsuede couch. Am I crazy? Are red couches cheezy or can the be pulled off? It's not like a lipstick red, but more like a burnt red.

If you read this far - THANKS! I'm losing my mind and just want furniture in my house!

We have a red couch- it's not cherry red, but it's still deep. The room is sage green. It's our den, so we have a round table with two upholstered dining chairs and another chair in the same fabric as the dining chairs. The fabric has the green and the red (and some other colors) so it all works together well.

Re: Red Couches?

Thank you so much ladies for the quick responses. The floors are hard wood also, so there is no clashing carpet issue. I am leaning towards going for it - but need a little push!

Re: Red Couches?

We have a red couch and we love it.
The only drawback is that my white cat loves it also - so we have to clean it regularly!

We also have red couches. Our walls are a goldish yellow color and the throw pillows that came with the couch have the same color yellow on them. Red couches look great with the right color. I think it would look really nice with the color you described.

Re: Red Couches?

We have beigy walls in our family room, and red leather couches (we've only been in this house a few months, so that's why the walls are so bare!)

Re: Red Couches?

Your not crazy. We just re did our basement (still haven't gotten around to posting pics.) and painted the walls 2 shades of green divided by a chairrail. We bought a cranberry colored microfiber couch color called Merlot. It looks really nice!
