train trips
Anyone take a weekend trip by train out of Penn Station? If so, where did you go? Looking to get away for a few days. ( Do not want to drive.)

I go to DC once a month for work. It's about 3.5 hours on the Regional, 3 hours on the Acela. You can go to Philly too which is 1.5-2 hours. I've never travelled north, but Boston is about as far as DC.

we have taken the acela to boston, philly (several times - we love it and it's so close!), DC, Baltimore. We are big train people; it's so much easier than driving.

I've taken the train to Montreal, but it takes a whole day to get there. We were away for 6 days & had 4 days in Montreal.
I've also taken the train to Boston for work. If you like Boston ( I don't ) it's an easy trip.
I would recommend DC or Philly. I've gone to both for short trips driving, but you can take Amtrak there easily.
