from what i remember 6mm is minimum, 8 is good, and over 10 is great.

This is what I was going to say... but it's also very good if it has a triple layer. My lining was always relatively on the thinner side (6-6.4) but it had that triple layer and that's how it was when I got pregnant.

Min of 8, prefer 10. There are many studies regarding this...as you know google is my bff....some doctors believe that lining increases the chances a successful pregnancy by 50%!

Lining is something that can be controlled (most times) with viagra and other drugs, so fret not my dear this is an easier problem to have, trick is for your RE to ACKNOWLEDGE it.

My lining for my first IVF was not even 8, i WISH i researched this before, but who knew what to even ask? I could have asked for viagra and gave myself a better chance. The 2nd IIIIIIII asked for viagra and my lining reached 10 quickly. Remember what i said be your own adovcate !!

i wanted to make a note on this post that i feel strongly that acupuncture helped my lining this cycle. mine was always around an 8 but this cycle it was a 10 days before trigger. i did NOTHING for it, no meds at all, and it was really great from the get go. i have been doing acupuncture for 4 months now and i def attribute the great lining this cycle too it. theres NO other logical reason why suddenly i would have a great lining after having just good ones in all of my other cycles.

Re: hey, experts, quick question

so weird you asked this today. I was just going to ask about the same thing. Dr. said today my lining was a 7 and she was concerned. When I left I remembered that for my cycles from 2 years ago they gave me viagara and estrace patches to thicken it. It made me wonder why they didnt do it for my cycle last month or my one now.
I've already been stimming for 9 days. I'm going to talk to dr. tomm about this. Do you think it's too late for them to give me something?

I always have the opposite problem..a too thick lining which some...although not all believe is also a problem. I certainly think it's a problem as I usually have a good number of eggs and both IUI's were a BFN. My last IUi it was 16 and my first it was 15...any tricks to thin out a lining other than Clomid? Im starting an IVF cycle this week and am very concerned about this.

Re: hey, experts, quick question

i *think* BCP thins lining, that is partially why it is a part of IVF protocol.

Hmmn...of course...I am not on BCP's for my IVF...just Lupron for a few days before CD1. I'm going to ask the Dr. what can be done in case my lining gets too thick again although he doesn't seem to think it's a problem..but I do!!

I am going through the same thing - who is your doc? My first FET my lining was between a 15 and 16 and I had a chemical. Today my lining measured 11 with a week to go.

Interesting..I've had two chemicals..I go to SIRM-NY. The thing is...some clinics actually cancel cycles if the patient has a lining that is our size!!

Do you know the clinics that cancel - very interesting!?! I also go to acupuncture, but more to help deal with stress than to help with the lining.

No...but I've actually researched this issue on Google and I have come up with quite a few stories of women saying that they were cancelled because of a too thick lining. I'm sure if you google "can lining be too thick" you will see these stories too. I tell you...it's ALWAYS something isn't it?
