Plan ahead dinners...

Hi Ladies,
I am looking for some recipes to make the weekend for the upcoming week. The time that I get home from work and pick up my DD I am too exhausted to start cooking from scatch. Could anyone please share a recipe that I could make ahead?

Thanks!

do you have a crockpot? that is such a big help during the week.
I always keep frozen fish (bags from BJ's) cause you can thaw it quickly under water and it cooks real fast.

I also keep sauce in the freezer, and clam sauce, pesto, pumkin sauce, most sauces actually you can make while you boil water.

Baked potatoes can be quick if you microwave first. mashed can be quick too, i actually peal them in the morning and leave them in the pot on the stove so when i come home jsut have to put it on!

we even grill when its colder out, cause you can do that pretty quick!

tacos, quesadillas, mexican food tends to be quick to put together too!

for sure, lasagna and chili. everytime i make it we are eating the leftovers forever. Also, meatballs in sauce are great leftover.

any baked pasta will freeze well... ziti, mac and cheese, etc. Tomato sauce. You can also cook some chicken (or get the purdue short cuts like my DH sometimes does) and whip up quick stuff during the week like quesadillas.

def some sauce..freeze then re use whenever..

i usually make macaroni one night and meatball subs another

homemade chicken soup...
fry chicken cutlets night before..

another thing i like to do is marinate chicken the night before in whatever recipe im using..then next day just break out the indoor grill and it cooks quick

My favorite things to freeze for busy weeknights would be chicken chili, lasagna, and burrito pie. Other good ones are pot roast, shepherd's pie, meatballs, and beef stew.

You definitely need to get one. You literally throw all the ingredients in the pot when you leave in the morning and it's ready when you get home. You don't even have to heat anything up!

ITA! I just started using mine regularly. I make sauce in it, chili, buffalo shredded chicken, salsa chicken, stuffed peppers, etc. I actually prep everything the night before and leave it all in the pot in the fridge. Then in the morning I just take the pot out of the fridge and pop it in the slow cooker.
