HCG, IUI, and BBT
So, I did my HCG injection Monday night and IUI Tuesday afternoon. I've been doing BBT for months and decided to continue even when I started working with RE - just out of curiosity. Well, I guess curiosity killed the cat. I'm kind of nervous now b/c it's Saturday and I still haven't seen a clear temp shift. Does that mean that we did the IUI too early or does the injection take precedence and/or throw off the BBT? My BBT has never been perfectly clear to follow, but I usually see the shift at some point.

Re: HCG, IUI, and BBT
Odds are the HCG shot is messing up your temperature. Fertility Friend had me override my O day once I entered that I had an IUI on my chart. The month of my first IUI I was on clomid too and my temperatures were all over the place. They sort of balanced off a few days after the insemination though. When you went for the IUI did the Dr./NP say if you had ovulated or if you were going to?

Re: HCG, IUI, and BBT
i found in medicated cycles my bbt didnt rise right away. when you medicate and trigger it takes a bit longer for progesterone to kick in, even though you did ovulate. it always worried me too. sometimes it took 3-4 days post trigger to see a clear temp shift. but it will happen. also if you are on progesterone it will shift because of that regardless.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided not to do the progesterone b/c my progesterone levels are normal and my dr. said the impact would be nominal. So, I'm starting with as few hormones as possible and then I'll just ramp up if things don't work. So, the only med I've done is the HCG shot. I guess we'll see...
Oh, and she didn't say anything about whether or not I'd ovulated at the time of the IUI. But, she had done bloodwork the morning before and based the timing on my hormone levels rising. My lead follicle was a 17 that morning before. She originally thought I'd be going in a couple of days, but when she saw the bloodwork results she decided to push it up.
